Sweden

In Sweden, we can find that most of the places provide lanes for cyclists and pedestrians whereas highways provide special lanes for motorcyclists who must be envied by motorcyclists in our country where they have to ride very precariously squeezing between cars and other motor vehicles jamming the roads at peak hours. The provisions for parks, vacant spaces and different lanes make their areas allocated for housing much limited but the proper planning has enabled more healthy living with very rare traffic congestion and serious pollution. Then there is the ease of public transport facilities such as the buses, trams and trains etc. This is where we can learn from them.            Furthermore, the rubbish is collected once a week for the rubbish not recyclable whereas the recyclable rubbish would only be collected once in two weeks. Householders have to sort out their rubbish properly and place in different bins or parts thereof. Big sized rubbish has to be carried by householders themselves at their own cost to some designated dump sites.  But the biggest contrast lies in their way of rule. There is practically no case of corruption anywhere and this is waht we have to learn from them .

John Sung And His Sibu Tour

From a publication of the '' Recovered Diaries of John Sung'', I learnt things that made me more convinced than ever that the so-called dramatic, dynamic and sensational preachers are more sensational than realistic . It must be mentioned here that Dr.Sung had been confined in a mental hospital for nearly a year and it clearly showed that he was not in the right mind. Although he had got PH D in chemistry and was offered a good pay job in an university but he chose to be a devoted preacher with very little remuneration. Although he said he was doing the right thing in the eyes of the heavenly father yet I think it not right to neglect his duties as a husband and father to 4 kids. I feel it tragic that his wife was left alone with four kids and with very little financial support as his pay was almost nothing. This was the reason why his two children died of poverty and sickness. Furthermore in his diaries he described his sermons had been very successful based on the number of repentants and converts. The so-called converts etc were very superficial and unreliable as at the heat of the moment, many came out to repent and kneel before him to let him pray for them but it did not mean they were really converts. As for the people claimed to be cured by him just by praying, it was more sensational and could not actually stand the test of time . How was it possible for him to cure so many people just by praying and touching the heads? If it was true then the hospitals would be out of jobs and the doctors unwanted. Even Dr. Sii Sii Chew of Sibu at that time challenged him and asked him to get the cured persons to claim a reward of RM500 if they were really cured by his praying and clearly the Doctor Sii did not get any claim from any patient at all. In his diaries, he did mention some people committing sins such as adultery, gambling, drinking or alcoholic etc but the way he pin-pointed his greatest opponent Dr.Sii as having a sinful relationship with his own sister was highly vengeful and smacking of wilful retaliation and this is most undesirable in the case of a great preacher! To be fair to all parties, we would therefore give the benefit of doubt on this scandal to Dr.Sii unless there is any evidence or truth in the allegation.

The Change Taking Place

We must admit that our world is changing much faster than we can figure out what is happening. As we the past active elements in politics are growing old we have an impatient mind that is to see that we have a more fair and just society. The world around us is moving fast. I am not just saying the nuclear Holocaust of Japan, the earthquakes of Sumatra and Shichuan but rather the transforming of the old societies of the Arab world. No doubt this wind of change is sweeping the desert land of the Arab world but it also affects countries around the world in various ways. We have the great chance that we may still catch up with the time of change in our remaining golden years on earth. Don't just watch out and see like bystanders. All ye countrymen and women, do your part and push the rotten tree down ridding of all the termites and rats and parasites here in our country and we may yet see the twilight in the east. The east is red, ho.....

Why Migrate?

Quite a few people are now applying for migration to foreign countries , mainly those English speaking former Commonwealth countries. Why do they choose to migrate to other countries? There are many reasons such as misrule. oppressive atmosphere, archaic education system and so on and so forth. We still have such elements who try to stir up racial hatred stressing the bumiputra special status, the feudal powers and the general corrupt system etc. People normally do not just lightly migrate to other countries as migration from mother country is painful and need a lot of soul-searching and hard thinking. It is not that they don't love their motherland, it is rather that those up there do not perform their duties as administrators and abuse their mandate to such an extent that it is quite unbearable. It is important that those in power should seriously rethink their policies and biased attitude to try to do way with corruption and unite all races for the betterment of the motherland.

The Proper Way To Survive

Nowadays, it seems that survival is not a simple thing. We naturally have to live and prosper and we have to tread carefully on thin ice indeed. First there is the perpetual threat of cancer, heart problem and many other illnesses.     If we are not careful we would fall in the battle for survival. Then there is the looming dark cloud of financial crisis which is real and imminent. Just see the countries like Greece , Spain and many others; we are left in the cauldron with no oar nor compass to guide us. If we are not careful and alert, we may end up with our money melting away like the ice. For the big problem of our country, we also have to keep watch on the state of affairs in the political arena. Don't depend on our politicians to deliver, they are mostly bent on making real good gains by corruption and wanton abuse of powers. We have to make sure we expose them and vote them out. If they play dirty and cling to their posts by hook and by crook, then we have to rise up and join the strong current of people's powers and chase them out by a show of the great power of the people just like the Arab countries namely,Libya,Egypt, and others- We are at the important period of great change which would bring us true freedom and democracy not meted out by the greedy political gangster but by our sweat and even blood. But we will be victorious as we fight for justice and human rights!

Dos and Don't For All Politicians

I think it high time that all politicians should think twice or many times before they jump on to the bandwagon.. Look before you leap man and woman, you better keep yourselves clean and not partake in the dirty murky pool of corruption and abuse of power for your self-interest. If you want money there are million ways to make money righteously. Do not think that you can get away with your cheating on people. Now more than ever we are at the moment of great transformation and change for better or worse and you can certainly see the tragic ends of the past corrupt political leaders the world over. Beginning with Marcos, Suharto, Kaddafi, Mubarak and many more to follow..... Just you wait and see. A rose is sweet by any other name and so the cow dung is no doubt smelly. Do not think the people will always be doped and fooled. Justice will always triumph in the end. If you cannot justify yourself well you better quit at the earliest moment to save your own skin from being lynched.

What A Big Joke!

When all the intrigues have been exposed and the evidences shown in daylight we would certainly ask why they could not find anything wrong with all the irregularities in that cow gate affair. People may be fooled sometimes but how they can be fooled all the times is a big question. Well things down cannot be undone or simply swept under the carpet. Be courageous and let people know the truth or they can never trust you again. Those in power should know better than just treating the underdogs as nothing more than a gullible group. It is a great pity to our nation indeed.
